E-Pub Specialist

Job Summary

We are looking for an EPUB Developer to create, convert, and validate high-quality, accessible EPUB publications. The candidate should have knowledge of HTML, CSS, and digital publishing standards to produce reflowable and fixed-layout eBooks.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and convert books, journals, and educational materials into EPUB format.
2. Create and edit EPUB content using HTML and CSS.
3. Ensure proper formatting, navigation, metadata, and table of contents.
4. Develop reflowable and fixed-layout EPUBs as per project requirements.
5. Validate EPUB files and resolve technical and formatting errors.
6. Ensure EPUB accessibility compliance and compatibility with eBook readers.
7. Perform quality checks on text, images, hyperlinks, and layouts.
8. Follow client specifications and meet production deadlines.

Required Skills

1. Basic to advanced knowledge of HTML and CSS.
2. Understanding of EPUB 2 and EPUB 3 standards.
3. Knowledge of XML and XHTML is an advantage.
4. Familiarity with eBook structure, metadata, and navigation.
5. Understanding of digital publishing and accessibility standards.
6. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

1. Adobe InDesign – EPUB creation and export
2. Sigil – EPUB editing and development
3. Calibre – eBook conversion and management
4. EPUBCheck – EPUB validation
5. Adobe Dreamweaver – HTML and CSS editing
6. Visual Studio Code – HTML, CSS, and XML editing
7. Adobe Acrobat Pro – PDF reference and quality checks

Preferred Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
2. Freshers with HTML and CSS knowledge are welcome.
3. Experience in digital publishing or EPUB production is an advantage.
